Material Girls/DKnJ: 1st Anniversary Brunch

Well, Denise beat me to it again! :-) She's already posted photos and a report on our Material Girls/DKnJ First Anniversary Brunch.

Let me start by sending a big THANK YOU out to Judy for treating us to brunch! And another big THANK YOU goes to Denise for my pin cushion. The colors are perfect, and she did an excellent job on stitching these (even if she thinks they are less than perfectly square!) You can see the pin cushions Denise made for each of us here.

After brunch and our usual "show and tell", we shopped at The Cozy Quilt Shoppe for a few hours. Since my birthday was earlier in July, I still had my 20% off birthday coupon to spend. I really wanted to stock up on supplies for a particular project I have in mind for a Christmas gift, but unfortunately, I was experiencing a mental block and just could not find the "perfect" coordinating fabrics . . . I kept finding pairs of fabrics that worked together, but not a complete set of 4-5. So I decided to put that project on hold for now, and instead added to my thread stash with several spools of variegated machine quilting thread (even though I'm not a quilter), a fat quarter of fabric I really liked and another Lazy Girl pattern -- this one for the Wonder Wallet. I've decided that I'm collecting Lazy Girl patterns, even if I don't have a specific project in mind. I just like them.

It was a fun day; we tentatively made plans for a fabric shopping trip to NYC in the fall and to meet for another upcoming event at CQS in October.

  1. Hi Donna,

Personally, I love the idea of you starting a collection of Lazy Girl Patterns. But, I'm a littled biased on the subject. :-)
