More Patriotic Pup Scrunchies & Summer Bandanas
Last summer, I posted about our collection of Patriotic Pup Collar Slipcovers and Neck Scrunchies; this year we've added more red, white and blue scrunchie neck ruffles, just in time for summer picnics and parties.
- Two scrunchies are made of sports fabrics with baseballs printed on red and navy blue backgrounds - paw-fect for Bark in the Park and 'take your dog to the ballpark' events;
- The Navy with White Stars scrunchie coordinates with a red version and patriotic collar slipcovers from 2011 (see all our Patriotic Pet ruffles and bandanas at SewAmazin's Studio blog);
- The Stars and Stripes and Star Spangled Stripes scrunchies remind me of July 4th buntings.
Here's Keli modeling the Star-Spangled Stripes and Red Baseballs scrunchies (Keli wears a Large/16 inch neck size)
Over-the-Collar bandanas are a new addition this summer. They're made in-the-hoop using No Dip Dog Bandana machine embroidery designs from DigiStitches, come in 5 standard sizes from XSmall to XLarge and are fully reversible. They're really easy and fast to stitch out, but the larger sizes did require a 200x260 hoop size (the medium size can be done in a 150x240 hoop).
Here are two coordinating bandanas: Patriotic Paisley Blue and Patriotic Paisley Red:

This style of bandana runs a little bit smaller than the collar slipcover bandanas I have made previously. They're intended to be shorter so that they don't dip into the water or food bowl.
I just could not resist pairing these two Watermelon prints for this summer bandana modeled by Penny. It looks just like a slice of real watermelon, including the seeds and green skin! Penny is wearing a Medium Watermelon Over-the-Collar bandana. Some of our Westie friends who have ordered the medium size have said that they prefer the large size.

I can imagine all kinds of fun fabric pairings and embellishments for these no dip bandanas!
As soon as I saw these fun summer fabrics I knew I would turn them into bandanas for surfer dudes and dudettes! The blue surfboard fabric is the back and accent to Surf Blue Flowers and Ocean Blue Flowers (worn by Penny below). The pink/green surfboard fabric backs and accents the Pink Flowers Surfer Girl Bandana. I also have Lime Green flower fabric that could go with either the blue or pink surfboards, for 5 different coordinating looks.

Over the summer, I hope to make new bandanas with various fun, beach themes.
