About

I like to sew...I like the Mets...that's why its called SewAmazin!

I am a sewing and needleart enthusiast. SewAmazin is where I keep track of my sewing, needlework, embroidery, quilting and other crafty projects. I sew, embroider and quilt on a Husqvarna Viking Designer SE and a Designer Ruby, serge on a Huskylock 936 and I use 4D Professional Embroidery Software. I've experimented now and then with free motion quilting using my Fabric Mover with Stitch Regulator. I also have the ER10 felting machine, but have only used it a few times. What can I say . . . I'm an experienced beginner at everything!

Why do I keep this blog? This is where I get to "show and tell" my sewing and needleart projects and experiences, kind of like my virtual scrapbook. It's always a surprise to me how many different types of sewing projects I've attempted each year.

I share what I'm working on and how I'm making it; hopefully my projects will inspire visitors. Feedback and comments are welcome. Whenever possible, I share links to instructions and supplies or resources when I can find them.

You may notice that many of my projects have a recurring theme -- they look like or are made for Westies! That's because we have two terriers (sometimes referred to as the 'Pesties") in our household. They think they run the place. Keli is a West Highland Terrier (at Rainbow Bridge since October 2018) and Penny is a Wauzer, a Westie/Schnauzer mix (at Rainbow Bridge since July 2021). They have their own blog, Keli's Korner~The Westie & The Wauzer, though we have not blogged there in a very long time.

Some of my projects also feature our favorite baseball team - the Mets! I like to use baseball fabric, embroidery, trims and anything else I may find to make bags, bibs, shirts and more personal and gift items.

I also write occasionally about my gardening and a few other topics.

>> I have been away from this blog since being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. I began posting updates again in July 2020, after being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer.

Shop SewAmazin:
In 2011 I opened SewAmazin shops on multiple online marketplaces where I have sold some of my fabric creations.

After losing our beloved Keli in October 2018, and Penny in July 2021, I have decided to close my shops. Please join our special sale group on Facebook, Keli's Korner by SewAmazin, where we will offer some of our remaining inventory of ready-made bandanas, neck ruffles and other accessories.

SewAmazin's Studio blog:
Launched in October 2014, SewAmazin's Studio is a blog for promoting handmade artisans, featuring some of my own items for sale. Please stop by the blog to see all the wonderful handmade creations!
